Catalog Sale Buyer Packet

1. Bid in person! We would love to have you on site with us if possible. This gives you the best opportunity to truly inspect any prospective horses. 2. Bid over the phone. If you would like to talk with the barn about bidding over the phone, please give us a call well ahead of sale day so that we can verify your funds. We will then call you on sale day when your horse(s) comes into the ring. 3. NO ONLINE BIDDING or STREAMING available.

Digitally: The horse sale catalog is posted as quickly as possible following our 1st of the month deadline. It can be viewed on the Horse Sale Catalog section of our website. In Person: Horses will begin arriving on site Friday morning. We invite you to join us Friday afternoon to inspect any horses that are there early as well as watch our Horses in the High Country Ranch Rodeo! All horses will be on site and available for inspection by 9:30am on Saturday.

The horse sale catalog is released 5 days after the 1st of the month catalog entry deadline date. We will post the catalog on the Horse Sales page of our website. Additionally, horse information is posted on our Facebook, Horses in the High Country Catalog Sale Facebook Event Page, and MVLA Youtube Channel.

We accept the following methods of payment: cash, cashier’s check, personalized bank checks, or debit or credit card, with a 3 percent surcharge added to all debit or credit card payments.

Pre-Sale Day Checklist for Buyers 1. Review buyer packet/terms & conditions of sale. This can be found on the Horse Sales page of the MVLA website. 2. Check out the catalog to get a feel for what horses you may be interested in. Make a list with Horse Hip #s. 3. Have a method of payment prepared (cash, check, or credit card (3%)) 4. Have a transportation plan & halter in case you make a purchase (MVLA does have transportation services available. Call our office for more details or talk to us on sale day) Auction Day Checklist for Buyers 1. Make a plan to come early to thoroughly preview & inspect horses. Sale office opens at 8:00 am. 2.  Register to bid & get your buyer number in the sale office. Printed catalogs are available in the office, though we have limited quantitiy so we ask that each party only take one. The digital catalog is available to be scanned via a QR code. 3. Head to the yards and inspect any horses you may be interested in. It is strongly expected that all prospective buyers conduct a thorough examination of conformation and gait, ground behavior, and ride any horses of interest before bidding. 4. Grab a spot at the arena at 10 am to watch horse demonstrations. 5. Auction starts at 1pm in the sale ring! Seating is limited and usually fills up fast, so get there early! The auction moves quickly, but don't be afraid to ask our ringmen questions as we move through the sale. Make sure you've inspected and know what you are bidding on. 6. Once the auctioneer says sold & your buyer number, the horse is yours! 7. Head to the sale office to pay for your horse. Horses must be paid for in full on sale day.
